📜 What is Gratuity?

Chapter V consolidates the legal regime on payment of gratuity to employees. It covers eligibility, continuous service, nomination, calculation of gratuity, timelines for payment, compulsory insurance, role of the competent authority and enforcement mechanisms, including interest and penalties for delayed or non-payment.
अध्याय V कर्मचारियों को ग्रेच्युटी भुगतान की कानूनी व्यवस्था को एकीकृत करता है। इसमें पात्रता, निरंतर सेवा, नामांकन, ग्रेच्युटी की गणना, भुगतान की समय-सीमा, अनिवार्य बीमा, सक्षम प्राधिकारी की भूमिका तथा विलंबित या अप्राप्त भुगतान की स्थिति में प्रवर्तन व्यवस्था, ब्याज और दंड से संबंधित प्रावधान शामिल हैं।
